The Wine Appreciation Group meets on the second Monday of the month in Holmfirth Civic Hall. We have twenty four members and currently a short waiting list. If you, as a Holme Valley u3a member wish to join the waiting list then please contact the group leader, Alan Calder at alancalder89@btinternet.com

At our meetings we taste six wines, normally 3 whites and 3 reds (35ml shots) rating them on taste/flavour profile and value for money. Recent tastings have featured wines from Alsace, Eastern Europe, French Cremants and individual vineyards visited by members. The next tasting features Alan leading a tasting of memorable wines from his long experience.
